The rich heritage of fine needlework art was passed down from the noble family of Marina Soutyrine’s russian grandmother. From her youth, Marina expressed interest in all types of needlework. At very early age, she began to sew her own clothes and collect cutouts from needlework magazines. Here she learned techniques of clothing design while gaining a prompt dexterity. Her talent, skill and love for this practical art has been developing ever since. Even though she became a medical doctor by training, when her daughter was born, the inspiration for embroidery art grew as she had been joyfully designing beautiful clothing for her “little princess”. Her passion and love of embroidery art is shared with you here. Today, Marina’s love for the fabric arts has matured to be expressed in a historic form of Ribbon Embroidery Art. This medium combines creative uses of embroidery along with ingenious hand-fashioned ribbon details and illustration to express multi-dimensional original works of art. Her works are in four major categories: Framed Art for interior wall display, Women's Jewelry, Personal Wearable Art and Decorative Art accessories. Each an original masterpiece can be seen on this website. A few representative items from each of major categories are shown below.
